About Me

My photo
I'm Coralyn, a Californian native. I am mother to a crazy 4 year old girl named Madison, a baby on the way, and a wrinkly Shar-pei. My husband is in the Army and we have moved from California to Hawaii and from Hawaii to beautiful Colorado. I'm a stay at home mom and student/art major. I love painting and drawing and hope to share some of these things with you throughout my blog along with other random moments in my life.

Lifestyle changes.

I have always been an awful runner. My husband doesn't even consider my running to be running because I move so slowly. I hate the feeling of my lungs burning like they're on fire. Pretty much I avoid running unless I'm being chased by something like a grizzly bear. Once upon a time, back when I was a bridezilla, I started jogging on treadmills. I was psycho, I jogged all the time! I felt so good and confident about my body. Then after the wedding I got into a bit of a slump when Matt left for Korea, and I stopped jogging. Since then, and a whole baby later... It has been pretty difficult to get started again.

About a week ago I began trying to go on runs. First attempt didn't go too well, and I felt really dumb wheezing around my neighborhood. Then a friend told me about this really neat app she used that helped her start running. Coach to 5k is a really awesome app. (I love my iphone).

Basically Coach to 5k is an app that helps slowly build your endurance over the course of 9 weeks so that you can finish the whole 5k (I think that's like 3.2 miles?) without stopping or walking. It's so easy even I can do it!

Finally I decided to invest in a jogging stroller! I was hesitant at first because I didn't know If I would enjoy jogging around post vs going to the gym. But being in Hawaii, we have beautiful weather and great view of Kole Kole mountain. Plus I can bring Madison with me, instead of leaving her with her exhausted Father after a long day at his job.

I did my research, and I knew what I was looking for.

I needed a jogging stroller with:

atleast a 12 inch wheel, (non swivel is suprisingly more highly recommended)

from a reliable brand
at below 120 bucks.

I first checked craigslist but found nothing. Finally Matt picked up one for me from the Post Exchange that fit the criteria entirely and It's great.
